About Me
It all started when…
Like many of us my interest in photography began when I attempted to capture photos of my young children with a typical point and shoot camera. This was a frustrating experience since I knew nothing about photography. I simply purchased what I thought was a “good” camera, ignored the manual, and fired away in AUTO mode. When half my photos of moving toddlers were blurry I simply cursed the crappy camera. As my children grew older they began to participate in dance, karate and ice hockey. I really wanted to capture great photos of them in action but had no idea what I was doing. I started learning about photography and realized I was the idiot creating blurry photos, not the camera! I purchased a Nikon D40 DSLR with a 55-200MM kit lens and went to work. Even with my new knowledge 90% of my photos were complete crap! But the 10% that were in focus got me hooked to learn more. I put in the effort to learn every nuance of the camera and began shooting in manual mode. As my results improved I became absolutely hooked on capturing the next great shot! Over the years I’ve tried just about every genre of photography (sports, macro, portrait, street, wildlife, etc), but for me nothing compares to capturing the beauty of our world through landscape photography.
